     New Zealand Rabbits

The New Zealand rabbits will weight up to 12 pounds, the New Zealand Rabbits are generally PURE WHITE, PURE BLACK OR PURE RED , but can also be  WHITE WITH  BROKEN PATTERNS. ( BROKEN PATTERNS NEW ZEALANDS ARE VERY HARD TO FIND ON THIS AREA OF NC ).  They have well- rounded bodies; slender and Muscular Faces with Round Cheecks, long back feet; and small,short front pectoral Muscles.

They have long perforated ears that stand straight up. Their most characteristic of the New Zealand rabbits is their bright eyes.

A female ( doe ) is fertile all year long. The gestation period is around 28- 31 days (  same as all breeds ). Every litter its form from 8 to 10 kits at the same time. 

Some breeders raise this rabbits not to be a domestic pets. Inteads they were bred for their excellent fur and meat. New Zealand rabbits are the number one meat rabbit in the USA.

The New Zealand is a wonderful rabbit and makes a great beginner bunny. They are very quite social and outgoing, and enjoy being part of the family. They like everybody and most household pets, and they  are not biters. As with all good sized rabbits, the New Zealand will need a bigger area to move around in. They need regular excercise as they can gain weight easily.
